Residents and visitors enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at the annual Hardwick Open Gardens event on Saturday 30th May, when nine village residents generously opened their beautiful gardens in support of Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity.
Blessed with warm sunshine, guests were able to stroll around the gardens and enjoy refreshments of tea and homemade cakes in the newly rejuvenated grounds of Hardwick Place, kindly hosted by its new owner, Susanna.
Adding a touch of creativity to the day, Louise Davis organised a "Fill Your Boots and Shoes with Plants" competition, with a variety of imaginative and colourful entries displayed at The Maltings.
The event was a great success, with neighbours and visitors coming together to enjoy the gardens and support a worthy cause. Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, a record-breaking £1,112 was raised for Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity.
A huge thank you goes to all who opened their gardens, baked cakes, helped with refreshments and competitions, and to everyone who came along and contributed to such an enjoyable and successful day.
